The first edition of Global Music Indian Awards (GIMA) has become a platform of emotional outburst for all the Indian musicians. It has started a trend and set a landmark in the Indian music industrythat will be remembered for years.

The renowned names of the music Industry was present at the event and they shared their feelings on the occasion. Academy Award winner Indian music maestro A R Rahman also got very emotional when he was entrusted with the responsibility of presenting the prestigious ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ to legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. Her famous sister Asha Bhosle was also called upon the stage to accompany Rahman while offering the coveted award.

The humble musician said that his father was a great fan of Lataji and Ashaji and he used to get inspiration for composing songs by looking at her photo every morning. Rahman said that his mother said that his father had a photo of the singer in a white sari. He said that his father would be very happy if he were with them today.

It has been also a very emotional moment for the two legendary singer sisters because they shared the same stage after so many years and Lataji received the award for a non-film album for the first time at GIMA. Her devotional album on ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ earned her the Best devotional music award.

Subramanium family was another lucky musician family that was felicitated with the ‘Best fusion award’. The entire family was awarded for their performance on ‘Live At Neues Gewandhaus Leipzig Germany’ album. Veteran singer Kavita Krishnamurthy said that it was a proud moment for them because it is their first award as a family.

Reportedly the duo has worked very hard for the two upcoming projects. ‘Tees Maar Khan’ is an out an out action oriented film which has a very suspense thriller flavor to it, so the music in it will also have that flavor in it. RA.ONE is basically a flick based on science fiction, so it has some very tech oriented bass music in it. So the coming months are going to be a great treat in terms of great songs and item numbers!
