Despite double Oscars and Grammies, the Mozart of Madras A.R. Rahman still has that nervous feeling whenever a new album releases. And Mani Ratnam’s work in progress ‘Kadal’ is no different!

The maverick director has teamed up with the maestro and expectations are huge from music buffs as the duo has given several magical chartbusters earlier. Rahman who usually composes song at his Panchadhan studio, even travelled all the way to Thoothukudi with his mentor to get the exact feel of the songs for Kadal which has Rameswaram and its fisher folk as its backdrop.

Looks like the long wait for Kadal’s songs are over as the number Nenjukulley will be played out for audiences worldwide by none other than the Jai Ho composer at the MTV Unplugged series on November 3.

When Rahman was contacted by DC for his reactions he was a bit thrilled.

“Really excited about the sneak preview of the song Nenjikulla. I hope people receive it well. This version is slightly different from the CD (album) version though.”

Thanks DC
