Celebrated music director A R Rahman will be attending the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland, where he will receive the Crystal Award for his achievements in the world of art and music.
Rahman will be in the company of over 2,500 participants from over 11 countries representing business leaders, heads of governments and states, academicians, artists and faith leaders.
He will be giving a presentation on his work as well, according to WEF.
Six senior ministers including Home Minister P Chidambaram, Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma, Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath and Heavy Industries Minister Praful Patel along with Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia will participate in the meeting.
CII, a partner of the Geneva-based WEF, is taking a 130- member delegation which includes Mukesh Ambani of Reliance Industries and Sunil Bharti Mittal of Bharti Enterprises, Chanda Kochhar Managing Director and CEO ICICI Bank, Kris Gopalakrishnan, CEO and MD Infosys Technologies Ltd and Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman, Aditya Birla Group.
