AR Rahman is part of an album that will have musicians from all around the world composing for singer Michael Bolton.

The Oscar-winning composer has given Bolton his hit track Sajna from Couples Retreat, albeit with a few changes. Bolton will now make his own rendition of the song and release it as a fresh track in his album titled Gems. He will also sing the Hindi words himself as Rahman is not singing the chorus of the song, as he was originally committed to.

Michael was keen to rope in Rahman for his album as he is a rage in the West, and also because the singer wants to collaborate with musicians from across the globe who have new and unusual sounds. He contacted Rahman and asked him to be part of the album, but Rahman excused himself as he couldn’t meet the deadline. However Michael insisted that Rahman be part of the album and requested him to provide a song that can be reworked and used. Rahman offered his song Sajna, which is in English with a few Hindi words in the chorus. Now the song is being reworked for Michael.”

Rahman’s manager confirms saying, “The information that you have is correct. Rahman is very excited to have teamed up with Michael and be a part of his global album. Rahman immediately gave the song to Michael and his rendition is beautiful.”
