Suspense happens to be Mani Ratnam’s middle name and the ace director only enhanced that reputation of his recently, by managing to keep the audience, who had gathered to witness the first look of Raavanan, guessing about the story of his upcoming flick.
Songs from the film, which have already triggered interest among fans and critics, were both screened and performed on stage and a mighty impressed audience was left wanting more. However, the members of the audience, who were waiting to hear Mani Ratnam speak in the hope that he would disclose more details about his film, had to turn back disappointed as the ace director refused to utter a word about the story of the film, which will hit the screens on June 18. Actors Vikram, Karthik, Prabhu, Prithviraj and Priyamani shared their experience of working in the film.

However, they too were careful not to disclose any details of the story. The highlight of the evening were performances by Vikram and Vairamuthu and A R Rahman, who sang on stage a song that does not figure in the album. On the whole, the event seemed to have achieved its purpose — impress audiences and increase their urge to watch the film when it hits screens.
