ROCKSTAR is directed by Imtiaz Ali and produced by Eros international and Shri Ashtavinayak Cine Vision. The film score and soundtrack will be composed by Academy Award Winner Music Composer A. R. Rahman by replacing the usual associate of Imtiaz Ali, Pritam Chakraborty. Imtiaz Ali and A.R. Rahman have never worked together before so it could be an interesting collabo. The lyrics will be penned by Irshad Kamil.
The female lead will be played by Nargis Fakhri. Other cast members include Piyush Mishra and Shammi Kapoor. The film is scheduled to release by mid-2011.Nargis Fakhri is in a lead for a first time and it is her first ever movie in Bollywood.
While Ranbir won’t be dancing in the movie he will be seen singing to A.R. Rahman’s music. Ranbir’s character is reportedly inspired by a real rockstar, Jim Morrison, and the buzz is that the film tells the story of a small town boy who becomes a rockstar! Nargis Fakhri who will sport long hair and a ‘rocky’ look! Ranbir will come up with many different looks in this movie. The heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor is once again going to do something new with his look and movie too.
