Here’s some news for fans of A R Rahman. His album of the muchawaited film, Raavan, directed by ace director Mani Ratnam, will be launched today amidst much pomp and fanfare. What’s more, the music for the Tamil and Telugu version of the film, Raavanan, will also hit stores on or before April 30.
According to reports, A R Rahman will perform live at the music launch of Raavan today in Mumbai.
We hear that Asha Bhosle — who has sung some memorable numbers in Tamil for Rahman like Venilla Venilla… from Iruvar and September Maadham… from Alaipayuthey — has sung a song in Raavanan. Apart from Asha, other singers like Naresh Iyer, Vijay Prakash (of Hosanna… fame), Karthik, Sukhwinder Singh, Rekha Bharadwaj, Javed Ali, Ila Arun, Anuradha Sriram, Shwetha Mohan and Sri Madhumita have also lent their voices to the sensational album.
The online teaser trailers that feature Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Vikram are already a hit among film buffs. Let’s hope the film becomes one too!
