Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya To Be Made In Hindi

By May 19, 2010 No Comments

It had been news that south filmmaker Gautham Menon will be directing his Tamil blockbuster ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’ in Hindi. The original had Silambarasan and Trisha in lead and it was a big hit especially for its music, which was done by AR Rahman.

The director had been looking for the right producer for the Hindi version. Many top B-town producers from Rakesh Roshan, Balaji to Vashu Bhagnani were trying to buy the Hindi remake rights of this film.

But the rights have now gone to the biggest bidder – IN Entertainment (INE), part of Hinduja Group. Gautham will also co-produce it.

The cast has not been decided, though Prateik Babbar is being considered to play the hero’s role and Trisha might also do the Hindi one.

Gautham wanted to use the same tunes of AR Rahman for Hindi as well but the BGM will be reworked again for Hindi as the story is set to happen in Goa instead of Kerala.
