It brings out the melodious blending of the traditional Tamil nagaswaram and tavil with the guitar and drums. To emphasise the greatness of classical Tamil, the line, â€˜Semmozhiyaana Tamizh mozhiyaam,’ runs through the song. In seeking to capture the spirit of the hoary language, Mr. Karunanidhi has included references to the works of Tholkapiyar, Thiruvalluvar, Kamban and Ilango Adigal.
The World Classical Tamil Conference, to be held in Coimbatore from June 23 to June 27, will begin with the rendering of this theme song. Mr. Karunanidhi formally launched the song in Chennai on May 15.
