It seems there is life after the World Cup for at least one of the country’s stadiums. In November, the Moses Mabhida Stadium will play host to Oscar-winning musician A.R Rahman, the award-winning composer behind the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack.
Rahman’s theatrical show at Moses Mabhida will make history as he will be the first artist ever to perform in a FIFA stadium after the World Cup.
His successful global tour the A.R Rahman Jai Ho concert will be staged in Durban, Cape Town and at Sun City.
He told Eyewitness News his show is vibrant.
“The show is actually a celebration of music I have done for 20 years and the whole visual and artistic element is Indian,” said Rahman.
Last year the song Jai Ho won an Oscar for best original song and a Grammy for best song written for a motion picture.
