Rahman is currently promoting Rockstar with the stars Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri and will perform a concert with the actors in Mumbai tomorrow. The much-loved singer and composer is a prolific collaborator, having recently worked with the supergroup Superheavy, consisting of Rahman, Mick Jagger, Dave Stewart, Joss Stone and Damian Marley and also featured on Michael Bolton’s latest duets album, Gems.

He’ll again team up with one of the music world’s finest during his Dubai concert, as concert whiz Amy Tinkham — the creative director behind live spectaculars by Britney Spears and Mariah Carey — will create a “theatrical experience that will blend new technologies with powerful dance arrangements and acrobatics”, according to a statement by Talent Brokers, who promise the concert will bring a mix of Indian heritage and modern presentation through LED screens and a global cast of musicians and dancers.

Tickets, costing from Dh100 to Dh1,000, are on sale from today at tickets.virginmegastore.me, boxofficeme.com, ticketingco.com and other online outlets.

Meanwhile, Kapoor and Fakhri, who are in Dubai on Thursday, will have a special performance at the University of Wollongong Dubai (UOWD). Here to promote Rockstar, they will perform with the university band for around 250 students, who will be chosen by a draw. The event is only for students of the university.
